Service Description
12 week DBT Programme. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an approach to helping people who have problems with their emotions or the things they find themselves doing. DBT was founded in 1993 by Marsha Linehan. DBT normally lasts for an extended period of time, up to 1.5 years which can be very demanding on the client (a yearlong weekly combination of individual and group therapy). This is an intense programme of 12 weeks covering all DBT skills combined with Biofeedback. As the limitation of a 3-month programme would be that there’s a lot of skills to learn in a short period of time, the use of Biofeedback will enhance the speed of acquiring the skills since the client will see the difference, experienced from the use of the skills, with immediate feedback during the individual sessions, improving self-awareness, which in turn will encourage practicing the skills more often in between sessions.
