Our Mission

Phoenix Centre aims to provide a safe and therapeutic environment providing assessments and treatment interventions using evidence-based approaches that minimise mental health distress and promote recovery.

Our team

Our Team of 14 affiliate therapists are qualified in different therapeutic approaches and offer a range of services including but not limited to anxiety, depression, addiction, bereavement, trauma, relationships, play therapy.

Damian

Dr. Damian Davy

Senior Psychologist, A.F. Ps.S.I., C. Psychol, Ps.S.I,

CEAP, MBPsS, MIACP, IAAP, MEAPA, MEAEF

He established the Phoenix Centre in 1999. He is a Chartered Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Lecturer. He is also an EAP Consultant with 26 years experience working with the Irish government and received the 'Minister's Award' for his contribution to innovative health and safety projects at work.

He was educated at O'Connell's CBS and began life training as a technician. Since 1986, he has trained in a vast range of EAP and psychology related areas. He holds the following qualifications

He has completed a research project for the Public Appointments Service and a doctorate in the area of occupational psychology researching EAP/Counselling and effectiveness.

His particular areas of interest include the development of EAPs, continuing professional development, research, ethics, recruitment, assessment and selection, life and business coaching, personality profiling, work-life balance and critical incident stress management. He was founder member of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association. He has also served as National Chairperson of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. He is Irish representative of the Employee Assistance European Forum and a past member of the research task force and an Associate Fellow and Registered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
